Wednesday’s Top ATP Tips April 2023

We take a look at potential winners from today’s round of ATP tour games. Here are our favorite winning picks for today:

ATP Barcelona, Clay

Alex De Minaur vs Alexander Schevchenko

Time: 4:00 PM IST

Head-to-head: 0-0

Alex De Minaur has played just twice on clay this year, winning his encounter against Andy Murray whilst getting convincingly beaten by Jan Lennard Struff in the other match up. He comes up against a form player in Alexander Shevchenko, who has had a very impressive 2023 campaign on clay. Shevchenko has beaten clay court specialists Lorenzo Giustino, Pedro Cachin and Francesco Passaro in his last three encounters and has won his last six matches on clay.

We think Shevchenko is good to back for at least a set in this match up.

Prediction: Back Alexander Shevchenko to win a set @ 1.53

ATP Banja Luka, Clay

Alexei Popyrin vs Alex Molcan

Time: 7:00 PM IST

Head-to-head: 0-0

Alex Molcan starts this encounter as the slight favorite as clay is his preferred surface. Questions still remain about his fitness levels and whether he can sustain his performance levels against the consistent Alexei Popyrin. Molcan picked up a good come from behind win against Taro Daniel last time out, whilst Popyrin impressed with a big win over Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor.

Considering Popyrin has had more game time on clay and looks more consistent, we would be happy to back him here.

Prediction: Back Alexei Popyrin to win @ 1.90

Cameron Norrie vs Pavel Kotov

Time: 5:30 PM IST

Head-to-head: 0-0

Cameron Norrie seems to have lost his form and consistency in the last few weeks, losing out to underdog Gregoire Barrere and Francisco Cerundolo in straight sets in his last two matches. In fact, he has lost his last three matches without winning a set.

His opponent, Russian Pavel Kotov is in great form, having picked up confidence boosting wins against Matteo Gigante, Benoit Paire and Olekseii Krutykh in his last three outings.

We expect Kotov to be able to keep it tight in this encounter and hold his own.
Prediction: Back Pavel Kotov +4.5 games
